At Massachusetts Elite Field Hockey, we provide athletes with high-level training and competitive opportunities designed to help them grow—not only as players, but as individuals. We challenge our athletes to sharpen their skills, embrace hard work, and develop a genuine love for the game along the way.
With 30 years of experience coaching and playing in High Performance Field Hockey, I have seen firsthand that success requires more than talent and good character. To maximize a player’s career, four key areas—what I call the Four Pillars—must be consistently developed:
Technique
Master the fundamentals. Strive for excellence so you can execute tactical plans at the highest speed and intensity.
Tactics
Learn to read the game better than your opponents. Understand the principles of defense, offense, and transition, and apply them with confidence.
Physical Preparation
Build the fitness, efficiency, and endurance needed to perform at your best for the entire game—and throughout a tournament.
Mental Strength
Be coachable by teammates and coaches alike. Demonstrate resilience and positive behaviors—respond quickly after a turnover rather than dwelling on mistakes.
These four pillars guide our approach and shape the development of every athlete in our program, ensuring they continue to grow and reach their full potential.
